apple juice and cocoa

around the same a year ago,
naiveness, first time excitement and the feeling of missing overshadowed
creating a somewhat mixture of sweet and sour
like apple juice...sweet but having a slight sour end

today, at the very same place,
same familiar ambiance and corner
the heart does not feel what it felt it felt a year ago
adaption works with time
the circumstances influence your thoughts
changes occurs and change perceptions
people come, people go
memories created, photographs taken
but that was the last of it
time made it bitter sweet, like a cocoa

still sitting at the same spot
but with entirely different views of life
glancing out at the bright sunny weather
a smile creeps on the face
we don't know what tomorrow brings
life is just so unexpected
who would have thought?
yes, a has year passed....
we all try to adapt with life and move on
even when u have to say a bitter sweet goodbye
to everything you've known in this place

Enjoy today and what the day brings, don't waste TODAY worrying about TOMORROW.

with luv,
me

♥ | these 22 years | ♥

It's a late late birthday post obviously. Had been catching up with homework and bonding with books. Well, this year's birthday is all good. First was a pre-bday celebration a week before my birthday. My cousins got together and cooked me dinner..how how sweet of them : ) Then on the 21st, I held a small drinking at my apartment with some close friends. Nope...no wild behaviours and no one KO-ed la okay.... Most have high alcohol tolerance :P . We played the Circle of Death and had some booze to go round while just enjoying each others's company. The actual day itself was reserved for dinner with only my housemates. However, it turned out that they had a surprise planned for me where they invited my close friends to join as well. Only Ping and Matt manage to join as the others have already made plans. Thanks Ping and Matt for coming all the way from Bendigo. After dinner, we went back home as we were all stillvfull to have coffee or dessert. At home, housemates and friends appeared with a birthday cake in front of me. *hugs*

Thank you so so much all of you..for making this indeed a very special day and something i definitely will not forget. Same time last year, housemates held a party for me whereby each and everyone of them cooked a few dishes each. It was also definitely one to remember and to treasure.

Having come so far, I couldn't thank God more for all the blessings He has showered upon me. Thank U so much for having me born into a wonderful, loving yet supportive family. They say, u can't choose your family and relatives nor what kind of background u will be born into. I'm happy and thankful with what i already have. Secondly, I'm thankful for all the friends that i've acquired all these years, no matter which part of the world you are in right now. Thank you to those who posted on my FB wall (altho i was a lil taken aback to see all the posts when i first logged in), i feel so so loved..but sorry, i cant possibly reply each and everyone of u. Big thanks also to those who have sent me birthday cards, text messages and also those who made an effort to call.

Growing up, I consider myself very blessed having to know all of u. Each and everyone of you are in my life for a reason and each and everyone of u are special to me, regardless if we've only crossed paths a little while. To my baby sister, I'm thankful that u r my sister and my bestest friend. Thank u for every every everything...u r the best! love u lots!!! To my gorgeous and bestest girlfriends, i love u girls heaps. U know who u are.... thank you for always hearing me out, not reluctant to advise me or giving your honest opinions. xoxo. My dearest housemates, thank u so much for everything. Having live with all of you about a year and a half now, it definitely would be part my of my life whereby one day i would look back and reminisce the good times we had together. I couldn't possibly write a long list here, but please know that I haven't forget any of u and that u all are always within my thoughts. All of you are like fine gems in my life, which I will always treasure.

To You, I guess if I've written this a month ago, two weeks ago and now, I reckoned I will have three different versions. Oh well, what's past is past, but memories remain. Thank you for everything, for always being there when I needed a friend to talk to, for believing in me and encouraging me in times I couldn't see myself through. Knowing you made me see life and things from a different angle, a perspective which I never thought of before. U hold a special place in my heart....thank you so so much...

And You, knowing you seemed to bring out another ME which I didn't think I have. Thank you for allowing me to see and get to know myself better and thus, being able to see the world from another point of view. Thank you for understanding, always being frank and opening up and sharing your experiences with me. I'm sure u did not realise, but I've learned a lot from u. Thanks so so much for everything. Thank you for looking highly upon me....really appreaciate it. Most importantly, thanks for the memories. U too, have a special place in my heart.

lots of hugs and kisses,
`me
xoxo.

shake, shake, shake

i experienced the vibration from the earthquake this evening in melb for the first time in my life
it was only a slight shake and everything and everyone is fine...
funny how it may sound, it's kinda cool to have experience it as we would never have the chance to do so in malaysia
i've got friends getting all upset and disappointed having to miss the MOMENT..LOL
anyway this is the second time it happened as it happened just two weeks ago
when it happened i was at home on my laptop..facebooking i think...
and when i felt it, i thought i was thinking too much
or it was just some random imagination in my head
turns out that my housemate felt it too and came to ask me
only then i realised...it was the vibration from the earthquake

whehehehe...some day huh??

we all experience random days. unexpected events and happenings.
we just have to learn and accept it.

g'day mate! (hopefully it's better today)
...well, it has been raining and chilly for the past few days.
like winter okay...aduh. damn, the Melbourne weather is a bitch!

i woke up extra early for class today. nope, not because it was an interesting lecture, just couldn't go back to sleep after. slept only 4 hours last nite but am still hyper, now that it's quarter to 3pm. *crazy*. like most of you, uni has started for me too and classes are so so la. no hoo-ha, nothing biggie, same old. As uni has just started, this week is still quite relaxing and i managed to meet up with Ying n Ping last tuesday to have lunch, coffee, hang out and catch up a bit. It's always good to hang out with the girls..... girls need quality girl time too. ;)

anyways, im an back to being unemployed. hehehehe.... yes, i cant stand them so i quit my job. hahaha..what a spoilt and immature brat right? Well, I cant deny that earning AUD for the first time feels good...and yeahh, im quite broke now. i need more donations. anyone care to donate?? people in aus, i can give u my acc num for u to pump in money. i also accept cheque n cash or gift cards. tee-hee. people in malaysia can always send me bank drafts credit cards or..okay la... gifts are accepted as well. bluexx :P

my my...am i happy that the weekend is here. i think i shud at least go catch a wink now
before i lose track of what i'm typing.

Today marks the fourth day of me working in a small Japanese Restaurant. Yes...u've heard me right.

Natalie's got a part-time job and working!!!!

My pay is not that great but at least I can say that, i don't have to keep leeching off of my parents for the things that i want. hohoho..yeahh, no more daddy's baby girl.

However, there's one thing that i really cannot stand working there. Never mind the bruises and chipped nails that I've successfully acquired, i could not stand hearing my employers speak. You see, it is a family owned japanese restaurant but ironically, it is owned by a chinese family from China. And my....it is so hard trying to listen to them when they speak english. So they communicate with me in mandarin. Those that know me would know my mandarin ain't that great but still, i was able to understand them and communicate with them in mandarin the past few days.

One of the things that i dread hearing is their pronunciation. once or twice never mind...but for how many hours a day.....somehow just bothers me. Don't ask me why cos i dunno why too. tell me, how many of u can stand listening to "soosee (sushi), saseemi (sashimi), spesiawl (special), ootong (udon) and kootuna (cooked tuna) all day long??? What's worst was when they say it in a sing song china style and yet in some way wanna copy the ang mo accent. OMG!!!!! I'm actually dreading and i fear....im worried that being too long around them i'll be "infected" with their sing song style english also. i fear that they will "infect" me!!!!! shucks! Howw???!!! will they??
I'm not saying that my ENGLAND IS SO THE POWDERFUL BUT STILL, i believe it's still important that u've got your pronunciation right especially when u r running a business dealing with a huge majorty of ang mo customers. Sighhhh....i dunno if it's only me...maybe it's just me being petty over little things but i just cant stand hearing it. Maybe I have OCD...some disorder for pronunciation? Omigosh. LOL. Siaw liaw...

or maybe...i'm such a spoilt brat myself, still daddy's girl...or maybe i just complain too much???
ignore me...just let me be.

my lunch today :)

nope, not everyday i get to eat sushi from work.

PS: sorry for ranting so much this time round. just needed to get it out of my system. heh :P

anyways, all this working is making me tired. gotta sleep early...need to work two shifts tomorrow.

Nite nite peeps~

empat puluh tiga darjah celcius

43 degrees!!!!

Roasted, BBQ-ed, burnt, charcoal black ..whatever u call it...
The heatwave has been hitting Melbourne, for 3 consecutive days now.
the temperature has broke Melbourne's record as it hasn't hit 43 for a very long time...
and also, known as the hottest summer for Melbourne
making days seemed like u have open a heating oven when u open your front door to go outdoors...
and nights..hard to sleep.. Sigghhh!!!
i guess... it's just what makes melbourne unique..
can be freakishly hot n cold or have 4 seasons in a day!

well, i'm not complaining...
*fingers crossed*

at least i went for a free train ride to the city today...
many train routes were disrupted due to the heat and Connex gave free train ride the whole of today
yes..u've heard me right..the whole of today, to anywhere, for all means of public transport including V-Line
so i thought..

i might as well go down to the city for a bit...
walk around, window-shopping (as if!) or just to take a leisure stroll alone would be good
and i'm glad i did :)

have u ever notice how perfect the clear blue sky is ?

no marshmallow clouds or a colourful rainbow but still, i'm
thankful for God's beautiful creation

PS: for those of u in melb now, do take good k and drink lotsa water, aite :)

Melbourne Cup Day 2008

So, yesterday was Cup Day and it was a public holiday in Melbourne. Every year, Cup Day is held every first Tuesday of Nov and during this day, Ozzies would dress up and spend their day at the racers. What Melbourne cup day actually is...it is Australia's major thoroughbred horse race, also known as the race that stops the nation. Racegoers would flood the racers during this day, both young and old, trying to catch a glimpse of winning horses and mingling with socialites and local celebs. Of course, apart from the horses, it was a day of fashion and fun for all racegoers.

Well, I wasn't there to see the race for myself but newspapers were flooded with pics and news this morning regarding this nation stopping event. All pictures below are taken from The Age. I totally love some of their fashion sense but some are just...uh well, not my type. So girls, hope u enjoy the pics! :)
