my first totally-not-traditional chap goh meh in Oz

I’m currently paying off my debts.

They should not be ignored nor written off as bad debts.

I’m paying off all my bad debts to my BEAUTY SLEEP.

Whoop dee-doo ;)

Anyway, here’s what I did during chap goh meh this year. far from the usual but was worth the change and treating ourselves.

Hope all of yours were fun as well.

PaPa Gino, Lygon Street

Home made bread with butter and cheese

Woodfired Pizza

Gino's Special - Tomato, cheese, ham, mushrooms, green peppers, anchovies

Amatriciana - bacon in a spicy tomato & cream sauce

After that was dessert :)

Brunetti @ Lygon street

Omg..i fell in love even just by looking at all those !!!

A brief history of how this cake shop started, which till this very day has 3 franchises all over Melb. A fast growing popular hangout place.

Brunetti Cakes began trading at the Faraday street location in 1985 and the Angelé family acquired the business in 1991 and has transformed the lovely café that it was into a truly authentic roman pasticceria.

The Angelé family comes equipped with a wealth of experience in pasticceria and caffé as Giorgio Angelé began his training in Rome at the age of 10. In 1956 at the age of 23 Giorgio came to Australia with the Italian olympic team as a pastry chef and was given the opportunity to migrate here after the olympics.

Since then Giorgio has always been involved in the pastry industry and is still baking delicious european style sweets.

My Italian Hot Chocolate – it’s good. It’s really thick and chocolatey!

Ying Zhen’s Vienna (recommended for those who loves strong coffee)

Of course, having come all the way there, we had to try the cakes as well, Could only try one b’coz we were still full from dinner.

Opale – Milk Chocolate mouse and chocolate sponge with hazelnut

Xoxo
